About The Position

We are seeking a Pulmonology & Critical Care Physician for a Locum Tenens position in Longview, TX. This inpatient role requires clinical coverage and 24-hour in-house call. The physician will manage pulmonary and critical care patients, including ventilator management, respiratory failure, and various pulmonary procedures. Responsibilities also include rounding on ICU patients, responding to emergencies, and providing consultations. The coverage period is ongoing, starting September 4, 2026.

Requirements

  • Board Certified required
  • Licensed in TX or Universal License (IMLC)
  • BLS, ACLS, ATLS, PALS, ABLS certifications
  • Fellowship required
  • Ability to manage cardiac arrest/failure, respiratory arrest/failure, sepsis, metabolic disorders, renal failure, OD/Poisoning, drowning etc.
  • Ability to manage pre- and post-operative general, vascular, orthopedic, neuro, and cardio/thoracic patients.
  • Ability to manage trauma and burn patients.
  • Proficiency in insertion of PA catheter, IABP, temporary pacemaker, ICP evaluation and management, and dialysis catheter placement.
  • Proficiency in diagnostic/therapeutic taps, lumbar puncture, paracentesis, and thoracentesis.
  • Proficiency in pulmonary function testing (Performance of, Interpretation).
  • Proficiency in ventilation management (Invasive (ETT/NT/Tracheostomy), Non-Invasive (BiPAP/CPAP)).
  • Proficiency in chest tube insertion, pleural biopsy, and pleurodesis.
  • Proficiency in central line insertion and arterial line insertion.
  • Proficiency in Bronchoscopy (Diagnostic With Endotracheal biopsy, Diagnostic With Transbronchial biopsy, Diagnostic With Bronchial alveolar lavage, Therapeutic with foreign body extraction, Therapeutic with stent placement, Therapeutic with laser).

Responsibilities

  • Provide 24-hour in-house call coverage for pulmonary and critical care patients.
  • Manage ventilators and respiratory failure, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation.
  • Perform bronchoscopies, thoracentesis, and other pulmonary procedures.
  • Round on ICU patients and manage critical care needs.
  • Respond to emergencies and provide consults as needed.
