About The Position

This is a locum tenens opportunity for a Physician Assistant specializing in Critical Care in Syracuse, New York. The role involves providing inpatient coverage for cardiac surgery ICU and step-down patients. The physician assistant will manage phone consultations, perform various procedures, and document care using the EPIC EMR system. This is a clinical-only role, working autonomously with a supervising physician and critical care physicians.

Requirements

• NCCPA certified
• Active New York license
• ACLS certification
• Minimum ICU experience required
• EPIC experience required

Nice To Haves

• Cardiac critical care or inpatient cardiology experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Provide inpatient coverage for cardiac surgery ICU and step-down patients
• Perform procedures including central lines, arterial lines, chest tube placement, CT removal, and wound vac changes
• Manage phone consultations for all inpatients
• Work autonomously with supervising physician and critical care physicians
• Document care using EPIC EMR
