About The Position
St. Mary’s Hospital, a 182-bed acute care facility and proud member of Prime Healthcare, is seeking a board-certified/eligible Pulmonologist to join its expanding pulmonary program. This opportunity is located in Kankakee, IL, a river community near the Chicago area. Requirements
- MD or DO degree with board certification/eligibility in Pulmonary Disease.
- Completion of an accredited Internal Medicine residency and Pulmonary fellowship.
- Strong clinical skills in outpatient, inpatient, and critical care settings.
- Excellent communication abilities and a commitment to patient-centered, evidence-based care.
- Eligibility for Illinois medical licensure.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and manage a wide range of pulmonary conditions, including COPD, asthma, interstitial lung disease, pulmonary infections, lung cancer, and sleep disorders.
- Perform diagnostic procedures such as bronchoscopy, pulmonary function testing interpretation, and thoracentesis.
- Develop personalized treatment plans, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams (including oncology, cardiology, and sleep medicine), and educate patients on disease management.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and potential program development.
