About The Position

Hendall Inc. is seeking a Publications Manager to lead an established quarterly publication and serve as a key member of our organization. This role oversees the full editorial and production lifecycle of the publication, from content development and editorial planning through design, production, and distribution, while managing client relationships, partnerships, and contributors. The Publications Manager will guide the development of high-quality content, publications, and outreach materials, and will be expected to propose innovative ideas that enhance the publication, strengthen audience engagement, and advance client goals.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • 7+ years of experience overseeing the development and production of publications, content, and outreach materials
  • Demonstrated knowledge of editorial workflows, style guides, and publication production processes
  • Ability to ask effective questions and adapt quickly to change
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and delegate across concurrent projects, with strong client management skills that drive high client satisfaction
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Familiarity with Adobe InDesign

Responsibilities

  • Manage the end-to-end publication lifecycle, including editorial calendars, production schedules, and distribution timelines
  • Oversee content development, copyediting, proofreading, design review, and quality assurance across all materials
  • Coordinate with writers, editors, designers, subject matter experts, and subcontractors to ensure consistent voice, style, and adherence to editorial standards
  • Propose innovative ideas for content, format, design, and audience engagement to continually improve the publication and related deliverables
  • Communicate effectively with clients, stakeholders, contributors, and partner organizations
  • Manage team staff performing editorial, design, and production work
  • Plan, coordinate, and report on the status of all publication activities and related projects
  • Conduct quality reviews and assessments at key editorial and production milestones
  • Participate in working sessions with the client to advance project goals and shape publication content
  • Facilitate editorial meetings, prepare status reports, and present updates across each service area
