About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Publications Lead with experience in Dermatology therapeutic area (TA) to join our Medical Affairs team. This individual will provide publications strategy, writing and review support and ensure the development of accurate, high-quality, and compliant scientific content across multiple communication channels. The role requires extensive cross-functional collaboration with internal teams (based in US, Europe & India) and external clients, serving as the key medical expert to guide strategy and execution. While the immediate focus will be on supporting publications related to Dermatology TA, this role will also extend to other TAs, providing scientific expertise and strategic input for a broad range of client initiatives. The position will report to the Director of Publications.

Requirements

A medical degree/advanced Life Science degree with prior experience of working with or within the life sciences industry; medical communications agency in scientific/medical role
Minimum 5+ years of experience in Medical Affairs/Publications within the pharmaceutical industry, including 3+ years in Dermatology.
Proven track record in publications planning and execution as per GPP, ICMJE, and EQUATOR network guidelines.
Familiarity with medical strategy development, KOL engagement, and congress activities.
Strategic thinking and ability to synthesize scientific and clinical data into impactful communication
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex data with clarity
Strong collaboration and stakeholder management skills across diverse functions.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrix environment with multiple priorities.
Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and compliance.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the disease area of interest through clinical experience or biopharmaceutical experience is preferred
CMPP or other medical writing, medical communications, or Medical Affairs certification would be an advantage
Understanding of Indian Contexts/Ecosystem

Responsibilities

Collaborate closely with client teams and offshore colleagues to ensure alignment on overall content strategy, scientific narrative, and messaging flow. Act as a key liaison between internal and client teams, ensuring seamless communication, alignment, and delivery of high-quality content.
Serve as the primary medical/scientific expert to lead the development and execution of dermatology TA/product publications, appropriately aligned with overall product/brand strategy.
Work with pharmaceutical Medical Affairs teams during congresses, product launches, and key data releases, coordinate and lead on prioritization of medical communication deliverables. Support strategic planning of publications, medical education, and other non-promotional scientific activities.
Provide therapeutic area leadership in key TAs including (but not restricted to) dermatology, Women’s health, neurology, oncology, respiratory, cardiovascular, rare diseases etc.
Research, develop, and review materials to ensure scientific accuracy, appropriate contextualization, fair balance, audience suitability of content, and compliance with quality standards.
Review and/or develop medical and scientific documents, including (but not limited to) publications (abstracts, posters/oral presentations, and manuscripts of all types), slide decks, scientific platforms, medical meeting materials etc.
Participate in meetings for development, review, and maintenance of key Medical Affairs deliverables in collaboration with Medical Affairs colleagues.
Understanding of Datavision/iEnvision platforms and tracking of publications.
Collaborate with Legal, Compliance and Regulatory to ensure proper and ethical interactions between Global Medical Affairs personnel and external stakeholders
Partner with internal teams (medical writers, project managers, creative team) based in India to deliver high-quality outputs within timelines.
Act as a key liaison with client stakeholders, including Medical Affairs, Legal, Regulatory, and Commercial teams.
Provide medical insights to inform advisory boards, symposiums, KOL engagement strategies, and pre-launch/launch initiatives.
Provide training, mentoring, and consulting support to internal and cross functional teams on therapy area, processes, platforms etc.
Provide clear, actionable feedback to the offshore writing teams to ensure scientific accuracy, consistency, and compliance across deliverables.
Ability to adapt to latest trends in application of newer technologies and platforms related to the domain to build competencies.
