About The Position
The Public Works Technician - Water is responsible for safely operating light to heavy equipment for solid waste collection, and for operating and maintaining water, sanitary, and stormwater systems, as well as maintaining City streets. This role involves a 6-month probationary period, and pay increases are based on length of service, advancement, and contractual factors. The position is represented by the AFSCME union.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.)
- CDL Endorsement B with Air Brake endorsement
- CDL A endorsement within 6 months of hire
- Previous experience in road maintenance, underground utility construction or landscape construction
Responsibilities
- Safely operate light to heavy equipment for solid waste collection.
- Operate and maintain water, sanitary, and stormwater systems.
- Perform maintenance of City streets.
