About The Position

The Town of Jackson is seeking a qualified, motivated professional to serve the community in a combined Street Operator and Meter Reader role. Primary duties include winter snow removal operations, including plowing, hauling, and heavy equipment operation; street sweeping; meter reading, installation, repair, and maintenance; backflow prevention work; and data entry associated with meter-reading operations. Any combination of education and experience that provides the skills and knowledge required for successful performance may qualify. The hiring range is $30–$33 per hour, depending on qualifications (DOQ).

Requirements

• High school graduation or equivalent.
• Class B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL), or ability to obtain one within two months.
• Any combination of education and experience that provides the skills and knowledge required for successful performance.
• Positive attitude and public service orientation.
• Experience with snow removal operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform winter snow removal operations, including plowing and hauling.
• Operate heavy equipment.
• Perform street sweeping.
• Read, install, repair, and maintain meters.
• Perform backflow prevention work.
• Enter data associated with meter-reading operations.
