The Office Manager provides high level administrative leadership across the department, ensuring consistent coordination in alignment with Public Works’ goals. This role requires sound discretion in personnel matters, including assessing candidates during hiring processes and preparing confidential documentation related to performance management, disciplinary actions, and separation procedures. Daily responsibilities include supervising administrative staff, managing departmental workflows, and overseeing personnel processes for more than 250 employees across multiple divisions. The Office Manager ensures compliance with county, state, and federal regulations and administers key systems such as Workday while supporting the administrative components of OpenGov. The Office Manager also plays a central role in departmental budget oversight by supervising the Budget Coordinator with development, monitoring, and reconciliation of budget activities. Additionally, the position serves as a trusted representative for the Director, helping maintain leadership continuity in their absence by exercising advanced management skills and independent judgment.
