About The Position

The City of Lawrence is seeking a transit-focused administrative technician. This is a part-time, temporary position. Duties include responsible part-time work facilitating customer service interactions including calls, emails, and questions at the front desk of Central Station.

Requirements

• Equivalent to completion of twelfth grade.
• One to two years clerical work experience.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks.
• Excellent phone skills.
• Personable attitude that is both team- and service-oriented.
• Familiarity with modern office practices.
• Committed to continuous improvement.
• View problems as opportunities rather than obstacles.
• Knowledge of MS Office.
• Valid driver's license.
• Pass background check.
• Pass post-offer City physical.
• Pass drug screen.

Nice To Haves

• Familiarity with the Lawrence Transit service.
• Ability to read a map.
• Excel proficiency with a focus on spreadsheet management.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate customer service interactions including calls, emails, and questions at the front desk of Central Station.
• Track and log complaints and customer service responses.
• Work with online dashboards to track buses and resolve rider issues.
• Escalate and collaborate on complex issues.
