Requirements

  • A valid driver’s license is required in the state where the job is located.
  • Be at least 21 years of age.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.

Responsibilities

  • Provide customer service to staff, visitors, and/or the public by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities within a government correctional location.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, and report security-related concerns, unusual activity, and/or policy violations according to site guidelines.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout assigned buildings, grounds, entry points, and perimeter areas to help to deter unauthorized activity and observe conditions that may require attention.
  • Monitor movement in assigned areas, verify access permissions as directed by site policy, and document entries, exits, and/or incidents in required logs and reports.
  • Support order at the location by communicating with site personnel, following post instructions, and assisting with security-related responses during routine operations and elevated situations.
