About The Position

The Public Safety Officer is responsible for routine safety and emergency security activities while safeguarding students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. The officer serves as the first responder to emergency incidents within the assigned facility and safely de-escalates critical events, using sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No prior work experience is required.
• Valid in-state driver’s license upon hire and adherence to Piedmont’s Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Obtain IAHSS Security Officer certification within one year.
• Pass a pre-employment psychological screening.
• Pass and maintain all training requirements needed to maintain employment, including certifications in Taser, ASP Baton, Mental Health First Aid, and other training as directed.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in general security, the military, or another public safety role.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification.
