About The Position

The Public Safety Officer performs routine safety and emergency security activities to safeguard students, employees, visitors, patients, and property. The officer serves as the first responder to emergency incidents within the assigned facility and safely de-escalates critical events. The role requires sound judgment when engaging with combative or escalating subjects.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.
• Valid in-state driver's license upon hire and adherence to Piedmont's Healthcare Vehicle Safety Program policy 3500.
• Obtain IAHSS Security Officer certification within one year.
• Pass pre-employment psychological screening.
• Pass and maintain all training requirements needed for continued employment, including Taser, ASP Baton, and Mental Health First Aid certifications, as well as others as directed.

Nice To Haves

• Two years of experience in general security, military, or other public safety experience.
• Georgia Peace Officer Standards & Training (P.O.S.T.) certification.
