Part-Time Public Safety Officer
About The Position
The Part-Time Public Safety Officer helps maintain a safe and secure environment for clients by actively monitoring premises, controlling access, and patrolling a variety of locations. The officer preserves order by enforcing regulations and directives at client sites for personnel, visitors, and the surrounding area. The role includes frequent interactions with client employees and guests, conflict resolution and de-escalation, customer service, property tours, and use of technology devices throughout the shift. The officer also performs other tasks and duties of a similar nature and scope as required for the assigned site.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Above-average computer and technology skills.
- Excellent customer service and team leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during stressful situations.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to remain vigilant throughout the shift.
- Professional demeanor.
- Ability to respond to emergencies with rapid and effective judgment and appropriate escalation.
- Willingness to participate in pre-employment screening, including a drug screen and background investigation.
- CPR, AED, and Safe Driver certified.
- One year of military, security, or public safety experience.
Responsibilities
- Monitor premises, control access, and patrol assigned locations.
- Preserve order by enforcing site regulations and directives for personnel, visitors, and the area.
- Resolve conflicts and de-escalate situations.
- Identify and report safety issues, hazardous conditions, and suspicious activity.
- Follow all post orders and complete assigned rounds.
- Provide customer service and information to client employees and guests.
- Use technology devices throughout the shift.
- Conduct tours of the property.
- Perform similar tasks and duties as required for the assigned site.
- Respond to emergencies with rapid and effective judgment and appropriate escalation.
