Public Safety Officer (part-time)
About The Position
Wilkes University is hiring a part-time Public Safety Officer to provide security for University properties. The position performs interior and exterior patrols, responds to University community members with customer service, enforces parking regulations in University parking lots, and provides walking or vehicle escorts within a reasonable distance of campus. Applicants should include a cover letter, resume or curriculum vitae, and three references. Employment is contingent upon a thorough background screening. Those working in positions involving regular and unsupervised contact with minors must complete additional clearances, including FBI fingerprinting and Pennsylvania criminal and child abuse clearances.
Requirements
- Obtain Pennsylvania Act 235 certification within three months of hire.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Eligible for CPR/AED certification within six months of hire.
- One to three years of credible experience in a similar position or work environment.
- Basic computer skills.
- Professional oral and written communication skills.
