About The Position
Christiana Care Health System is seeking a full-time Security Officer for its Cecil Campus location. The successful candidate will be responsible for patrolling the grounds to ensure a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors. This role involves conducting investigations into incidents, responding to alarms and security issues, and enforcing parking regulations. The position requires working a rotating schedule that includes straight days or straight overnights, as well as weekends and holidays.
Requirements
- HS Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Maryland Department of State Police, Licensing Division, Security Guard Certification required upon hire, or obtained within 90 days of hire.
- Acceptable drivers record in good standing.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice or related field.
- Two years of experience in campus/hospital security, law enforcement, or another related field.
Responsibilities
- Works closely with law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction
- Responsible to patrol campus facilities, providing visible security coverage during hours of operation
- Responds to calls for service for students, faculty, staff and visitors, as necessary
- Candidate will be responsible for incident/accident investigations and completing written reports in accordance with department policies
- Operates DELJIS, Report Executive Records Management System, Access Control Systems and other assigned technology
