About The Position

Public Safety Officers serve as front-line guardians to the Hartford HealthCare community. They provide customer service and help ensure environments are safe, secure, and prepared for patients, visitors, colleagues, clinicians, and physicians. Officers use their presence to prevent hazardous situations, respond to and manage hazardous and emergency situations, and provide support and resources after situations are managed.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• One year of relevant experience serving the public or patients, such as public safety, corrections, first responder, military, mental health worker or technician, or another similar healthcare patient-facing role. Related volunteer or degree programs may be substituted for experience at the hiring manager’s discretion.
• Valid driver’s license and an excellent driving record.
• Valid Connecticut Guard Card, or documentation of a submitted Connecticut Guard Card application, with the expectation of receiving the card within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
