Public Safety Officer - Cecil Campus
About The Position
Christiana Care Health System is recruiting a full-time Security Officer at its Cecil Campus. The officer helps protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors by patrolling campus grounds and facilities, responding to alarms and security incidents, enforcing parking regulations, and investigating incidents on the property. The role includes responding to service calls and working closely with law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction. Hours are either straight days or straight overnights and include weekends and holidays, according to a two-week rotating schedule.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Maryland Department of State Police, Licensing Division, Security Guard Certification upon hire or within 90 days of hire.
- Acceptable driving record in good standing.
Nice To Haves
- Associate degree or higher in Criminal Justice or a related field.
- Two years of experience in campus or hospital security, law enforcement, or another related field.
Responsibilities
- Patrol campus grounds and facilities to provide visible security coverage during hours of operation.
- Help protect and maintain a safe and secure environment for staff, patients, and visitors.
- Respond to alarms, security incidents, and calls for service from students, faculty, staff, and visitors as necessary.
- Conduct incident and accident investigations and complete written reports in accordance with department policies.
- Enforce parking regulations.
- Work closely with law enforcement agencies of jurisdiction.
- Operate DELJIS, Report Executive Records Management System, Access Control Systems, and other assigned technology.
