The University of St. Thomas, Department of Public Safety, is seeking highly qualified candidates for full-time Public Safety Officer roles. This position works an overnight, 12-hour shift from 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM. During the initial training period (one to three months), the new hire will train on day, swing, and night shifts. This position is full-time, benefits eligible, and pay begins at $24.00 an hour, with a $1.00 shift differential for overnight hours. Public Safety plays a major role in protecting the St. Thomas community and has a proven history of educating, training, and enhancing job skills for professional career advancement in policing and private security. Full-time employees are eligible for 90% tuition remission for bachelor's and master's degrees after one year of employment. Officers work 12-hour shifts, and the specific shift (day or evening) may not be determined until after the six-month training period. The schedule is subject to change based on business needs.
