The Deputy Director of Public Safety - Communications plays a crucial role in the Campbell County organization by making a daily difference through hard work, open and honest communication, ongoing improvement, and accountability. This position involves managing E911 personnel, telephone and radio equipment, and recommending/managing improvements to the emergency communication system. The role also focuses on identifying recruitment, retention, and educational needs for E911 personnel, preparing reports, and collaborating with other County departments and agencies to enhance E911 services and public awareness. Additionally, the Deputy Director coordinates EMS, Fire, Animal Control, and Law Enforcement activities, plans and delivers exercises, develops standard operating guidance, and trains E911 personnel. This position advises the Public Safety Committee and the Director of Public Safety, attends functions as a representative, and serves as the Deputy Emergency Coordinator in the absence of the Coordinator. Responsibilities include preparing records and budgets, formulating program goals, organizing services, analyzing revenue, anticipating expenditures, and potentially writing and administering grants. The role involves public speaking, responding to emergency incidents, driving and operating emergency equipment, and assisting with procurement and equipment maintenance.
