This role is responsible for managing E911 personnel, telephone equipment, and radio equipment, recommending and managing improvements to the emergency communication system, and identifying recruitment, retention, and educational needs for E911 personnel. The position involves preparing reports, working with other County departments and agencies to increase awareness and recruitment, and coordinating E911 education messages. The Deputy Director responds to citizen inquiries, coordinates with various emergency services, plans and delivers exercises, and develops standard operating guidance. This role advises the Public Safety Committee and the Director of Public Safety, attends functions as a representative, and may act as the Deputy Emergency Coordinator. Responsibilities also include preparing and maintaining records and budgets, formulating program goals, recommending resource allocation, organizing services, analyzing revenue and expenditures, and potentially writing and administering grants. The role requires speaking to groups, responding to emergency incidents, driving and operating emergency equipment, and assisting with procurement and equipment maintenance.
