About The Position

Under direct supervision from the Administrative Services Manager, the Public Safety Administrative Specialist serves a critical role in supporting the operational readiness and efficiency of the Department of Public Safety by providing administrative and operational support for the department’s equipment, fleet, facilities, and special event functions. This position requires exceptional organizational and administrative skills, attention to detail, the ability to prioritize multiple assignments, and the exercise of sound independent judgment.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or GED.
  • 1 year of relevant experience required.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including word processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Effective written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently on assigned projects.
  • Ability to move objects weighing up to 50 pounds from floor to waist height.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the waist to retrieve and store materials and equipment.
  • Requires successful completion of a background check.
  • Selected candidates will be requested to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.

Nice To Haves

  • Certification or vocational training may be preferred.
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of Workday and university procurement systems.
  • Valid driver’s license.
