The City of Roanoke is seeking a Public Infrastructure Inspector to review plans and specifications and inspects projects in the right of way, sidewalk, alley or paving for compliance with contracts, ADA requirements, OSHA standards and city code and will issue violation/non-compliance notices. The successful applicant will inspect right of way, street, sidewalk, alley and related construction projects of contractors, developers and other builders at beginning of, during and end of work for compliance with plans, specifications and standards and inform contractor of deviations or errors and advises as to corrective action; track and keep progress records in MS Microsoft databases and Trackit permit software; and conduct routine tests in the field. High school diploma or general education degree (GED);experience with email, MS Word and Excel software; two to three years related experience and/or training in a sub-professional engineering position; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
