About The Position

Parsons is seeking an Inspector with a keen eye for detail to join a rapidly growing team focused on enhancing community infrastructure. This role offers the opportunity to apply emerging inspection skills to urban infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will be versatile, enthusiastic about working in flexible, team-oriented environments, and possess exceptional communication, analytical, and organizational skills. Inspectors will perform well-defined and sometimes difficult inspection tasks, including monitoring quality control procedures, conducting continuous surveillance of construction activities to ensure compliance with codes, standards, and specifications, documenting non-conformances, and participating in resolution discussions. Willingness to travel and/or relocate to field sites is expected.

Requirements

  • High school diploma, post-secondary degree or diploma in civil engineering or related field
  • Previous engineering/construction experience is required
  • Prior experience working on municipal or MTO projects is required
  • Able to work on weekends and nights, as required
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Proficiency with MS Office

Nice To Haves

  • Designation as determined by OACETT as a Road Construction Senior Inspector (rcsi) Technology/Technician or currently as an engineering university/college student, is considered a strong asset
  • Either registration as a Professional Engineer or Engineer-in-Training with PEO as a Technician or Technologist with O.A.C.E.T.T., is considered a strong asset

Responsibilities

  • Carries out inspection activities to ensure conformance
  • Conducts site surveys, obtaining relevant information, equipment and materials
  • Searches for physical survey evidence (building ties, monuments, fences, etc.) and determines whether or not existing survey evidence suffices
  • Obtains additional survey evidence as necessary and determines when enough information has been obtained
  • Analyzes situations or data from which answers are easily obtained using standard procedure and practice
  • Assists to compile field data in report form for review of project designer
