About The Position

This role involves assisting with data analysis and dissemination for a collaborative research project focused on strengthening the delivery of HPV vaccination to girls living with HIV in Zambia. The project utilizes mixed methods research and implementation science. The student will work under supervision on various research tasks, including literature review updates, data analysis, drafting dissemination materials, and attending research meetings.

Requirements

  • Currently enrolled as a degree-seeking undergraduate at University of St. Thomas, preferably majoring in Public Health
  • Knowledge/experience with and/or interest in mixed methods public health research
  • Knowledge/experience in analyzing quantitative and/or qualitative data
  • Computer skills, including prior use and proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Student researcher must be self-directed, responsible, dependable, and efficient

Responsibilities

  • Assist in updating the existing literature review
  • With supervision, analyze quantitative (survey) data and/or qualitative (focus group and interview) data
  • Draft tables/charts/graphs for reports, publications, presentations/posters
  • With supervision, assist with drafting sections of preliminary dissemination materials, such as one-pagers, PPT presentations for key stakeholders, and/or components of a research manuscript intended for publication, related to this research and our findings
  • Attend a regular research meeting with UST faculty investigator, Dr. Deanna Tollefson
  • Other research-related duties as assigned
