Requirements

Associate’s degree in nursing from an accredited college or university
Completion of a PHN course within one (1) year of hire
Current Georgia Registered Professional Nurse license
CPR certification
A copy of college transcript is required.

Nice To Haves

Completion of a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
One (1) year of experience as a Registered Professional Nurse.

Responsibilities

Serve as the TB nurse for the health department and will provide professional nursing care in accordance with nurse protocols, policies, and/or procedures.
Function as an expanded role nurse providing patient care consistent with patient’s level of need.
Utilize the EMR system to accurately document patient care and enter billing information for reimbursement.
Order and dispense medications based on nursing assessment and according to established nurse protocol.
Serve as patient advocate and refer patients to community partners or private physicians, when indicated.
