About The Position

The Vermont Department of Health is seeking an experienced Public Health Program Manager to lead and oversee programs supporting substance use treatment programs. This role focuses on program development, compliance, and grant management to ensure high-quality treatment services for Vermonters. Excellent organizational and interpersonal skills are needed to facilitate coordinating multiple activities across many stakeholders are necessary. While most work is performed in the office at standard state hours, some travel for site visits is required. The Program Manager will collaborate with community partners, service providers, and government agencies to strengthen substance use disorder service systems and improve health outcomes.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields AND one (1) year or more of experience in public health or human services related programmatic work including experience leading a team or project.
  • Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields AND two (2) years or more of experience in public health or human services related programmatic work including experience leading a team or project.
  • Two (2) years or more of experience as a Public Health Specialist II.
  • One (1) year or more of experience as Public Health Specialist III.
