Under direction, this role plans, directs, coordinates, evaluates, and manages various regional services and groups of multi-disciplinary professional and paraprofessional staff providing health care services within the Public Health Department. Positions in this series have overall managerial responsibility for the operational management of assigned services, programs, nursing activities, and professional and paraprofessional personnel in a Regional Office or distinct Program. The Public Health Department is currently recruiting to fill three (3) Public Health Nurse Manager I positions. One position is within the Maternal Child and Family Health Branch for the California Children’s Services (CCS) program, responsible for administrative and clinical direction for case management of children with complex medical conditions. Another position in the Maternal Child and Family Health Branch is for the Regional Nursing Services & Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program, overseeing nurse home visiting services for vulnerable populations and children with elevated blood lead levels. The third position is within the Infectious Disease and Response Branch for the Tuberculosis (TB) Program, responsible for program oversight and clinical direction for Public Health Nurses and support staff.
