About The Position

The Vermont Department of Health is seeking an experienced Public Health Program Manager to lead and oversee programs supporting substance use recovery residences funded through the Rural Health Transformation Grant Program. This role focuses on program development, compliance, and grant management to ensure high-quality recovery housing and supportive services. The Program Manager will collaborate with community partners, service providers, and government agencies to strengthen recovery systems and improve health outcomes. The Rural Health Transformation (RHT) project is supported by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) as part of a financial assistance award totaling $195,053,740.44 with 100 percent funded by CMS/HHS. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields AND one (1) year or more of experience in public health or human services related programmatic work including experience leading a team or project.
  • OR Bachelor’s degree in public health, public administration, business administration, environmental science, emergency response, human services, social sciences related fields or health-related fields AND two (2) years or more of experience in public health or human services related programmatic work including experience leading a team or project.
  • OR Two (2) years or more of experience as a Public Health Specialist II.
  • OR One (1) year or more of experience as Public Health Specialist III.
  • Private means of transportation must be available for required travel.
  • Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the position.
