About The Position

The Public Health Program Administrator with the Department of Health plays a vital role in supporting safe and effective access to medical marijuana. This position helps ensure that permitted facilities follow state regulations, maintain high standards, and protect patient safety. You guide field staff, strengthen compliance processes, and support the mission of helping patients with serious medical conditions. This role is an excellent opportunity to contribute to meaningful public health work. This position supports the Bureau of Medical Marijuana by overseeing compliance activities, guiding field staff, and helping ensure that permitted facilities meet program standards. The role involves coordinating key processes, reviewing program materials, and supporting field operations across the central region.

Requirements

  • One year as a Public Health Program Associate 2 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration)
  • A bachelor's degree and two years of professional experience in the development, analysis, or monitoring of programs, grants, or contracts in health, human services, social or behavioral services, health care services, or health insurance
  • An equivalent combination of experience and training
  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions

Responsibilities

  • Manage tracking, logging, and completion of compliance activities for communications, renewals, and application reviews
  • Create interpretative guidance, forms, and protocols to support field compliance work
  • Evaluate inspection findings, investigations, complaints, and inquiries to recommend outcomes
  • Develop training materials, assess educational needs, and support field staff learning opportunities
  • Lead efforts to establish training on the seed to sale system and maintain program relationships
  • Oversee field staff activities, observe inspections, and conduct annual audit reviews
