This branch of the Public Health Pathways Program offers a yearlong opportunity to gain experience within a unit of the Minneapolis Health Department. It covers costs for participants to expand their knowledge of public health through training and education. The program encourages individuals from all backgrounds, with diverse educational paths and experiences, to apply, emphasizing that it is not solely for those with higher education. A Public Health Pathways Program Associate supports an assigned Minneapolis Health Department supervisor or staff, working towards department goals and improving public health services. They also engage in professional development trainings or education to strengthen their public health knowledge. This position aims to provide individuals with the ability to gain knowledge, skills, and attributes associated with working in the Minneapolis Health Department, offering opportunities for public health experience, professional growth, and meaningful networking. A degree in Public Health or previous public health experience is not required. A resume is necessary for consideration. This position is grant-funded with funding secured through 2027; additional funding beyond the grant's expiration will be sought but is not guaranteed. An informational session is scheduled for Thursday, September 10, from 1:00 PM to 1:45 PM. The City of Minneapolis does not sponsor applicants for work visas.
