About The Position

Serves as a subject matter expert in an assigned program area of responsibility and develops procedures, monitors program effectiveness, interprets and provides information to other staff and general public of their assigned program, receives and reviews reports and expenditures to determine financial status of the program. This role involves establishing program goals, monitoring effectiveness, determining priorities, and developing training and corrective action plans. The specialist will also prepare reports, act as a liaison with funding authorities, conduct educational outreach, and provide administrative assistance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • HS diploma/GED and combined education and experience totaling five (5) years in Public/Community health agency or a health related position that would demonstrate the necessary knowledge, skills and abilities will substitute for the required education.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in an assigned program area.
  • Develop procedures and monitor program effectiveness.
  • Interpret and provide information to staff and the general public.
  • Receive and review reports and expenditures to determine financial status.
  • Establish program goals and objectives.
  • Determine priorities and identify planning gaps.
  • Develop training, exercise activities, and corrective action plans.
  • Attend monthly meetings.
  • Prepare reports and analyses.
  • Review records and reports submitted by program requests or agency staff.
  • Serve as liaison with funding authority and departmental fiscal unit.
  • Make recommendations to local or state officials.
  • Prepare or review annual and quarterly reports and analyses.
  • Implement procedures, processes, services, and systems necessary for compliance.
  • Conduct educational outreach activities.
  • Develop program information materials for distribution.
  • Train employees in proper methods and procedures.
  • Ensure correctness of work.
  • Interpret laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
  • Market training programs.
  • Present and/or facilitate lectures and trainings.
  • Facilitate and promote the use of the TRAIN learning management system.
  • Provide administrative assistance to departmental staff.
