About The Position
This position’s primary goal is to prevent communicable disease in the community. This position is responsible for educating community partners regarding the administration of vaccinations to children and teens. Nursing activities include, but are not limited to: systematic analysis of health data; health education and advocacy; coalition building; and collaborating with community partners to promote the health of a population. This position will strive to: build healthy communities through promotion of healthy environments; achieve health equity and social justice; improve quality of life and increase access to care. This position may be involved with special health projects in the community including, but not limited to, the Community Health Assessment, nursing interventions, and goal setting with a client and family. The Toledo-Lucas County Health Department (TLCHD) is accredited by the Public Health Accreditation Board and serves as the local health authority for Lucas County. It operates as a regional health district, serving all cities, townships, and villages within the county. The department's responsibilities include preventing and controlling the spread of disease and injury, protecting against environmental hazards, promoting, and supporting healthy behaviors, and preparing for and responding to emergencies.
