About The Position

Summit County Public Health is seeking a Public Health Intern to work part-time (up to 28 hours per week) Monday through Friday in their Senior and Adult Services program. This internship offers the opportunity to assist with programmatic activities, conduct special projects, and provide support for various program functions. The role will involve supporting services such as BRI Care Consultation (a coaching program for individuals with dementia and their caregivers), The Gatekeeper Program (identification, assessment, and case management for older adults and individuals with disabilities to promote independent living), and Community Education & Training (public initiatives on falls prevention, brain health, and building a Dementia Capable Community). Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Pursuit of a bachelor's or graduate degree in Public Health or a related field, or be a recent graduate seeking practical experience in the field.
  • Valid Ohio driver's license, liability insurance, and automobile availability.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research on relevant topics.
  • Assist with the planning, development, and implementation of local programs and community activities.
  • Provide support on special projects and administrative tasks as assigned by program staff.
  • Perform accurate data entry to maintain and update program records.
