Public Health Inspector Degree
About The Position
Reporting to the Supervisor of the Public Health Inspection Program, the Public Health Inspector assists in the planning, delivery, assessment and improvement of public health inspection services in the assigned area. The Inspector will work closely with the Medical Health Officer, and take direction from them on investigations and follow-up actions. The incumbent fulfills the requirements created by the formal delegation of responsibility by the SHA in its capacity as the 'local authority' prescribed in the Public Health Act. The SHA appoints Public Health Inspectors as 'Public Health Officer' and as Plumbing Inspectors as provided for under the authority of the Public Health Act and Regulations; the Ministry of Health appoints Public Health Inspectors as Tobacco Enforcement Officers as provided for in the Tobacco Control Act.
Requirements
- Bachelor of Science in Environmental Health (BSEH)
- Valid Class 5 driver's license
- Certificate in Public Health Inspector (Canada) (CPHI(C))
- Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI) membership
- Ability to upload all relevant documents (ex: certificates, diplomas, proof of enrollment, licenses and/or memberships) relating to the qualifications of the position.
- Ability to bring a valid Criminal Record Check (CRC) to the interview; it must be dated within six (6) months and include a vulnerable sector search.

Responsibilities
