About The Position

Assists clients by addressing social and financial health care needs, provides general supervision of clients, makes appropriate medical placements and conducts health care need assessments.

Requirements

  • Three (3) years of experience in a social services environment, statistical work or related field; AND High school diploma or possess GED, OR Two (2) years of experience in a social services environment, statistical work or related field; and one (1) year of college study (30 semester hours or 36 quarters) from an accredited college or university.
  • An equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
  • PROOF OF EDUCATION, TRAINING AND/OR EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED.
  • Knowledge of administrative functions, programs, policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge and skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suites (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Knowledge of organizational, financial (including budgeting, basic accounting and/or auditing) purchasing and/or personnel management techniques.
  • Knowledge of Shelby County program and policies and services and related federal, state and local programs.
  • Knowledge of QuickBooks and online banking applications.
  • Ability to plan, organize and maintain an even flow of work.
  • Ability to provide effective customer services in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must pass background check to include: TBI/FBI Criminal check Tennessee Abuse Registry Tennessee Felony Offender Registry Adult Offender Registry and the National and Tennessee Sexual Offender Registry.

Responsibilities

  • Confers with caregivers and creditors and writes/ signs appropriate correspondence.
  • Investigates and negotiates clients’ bills.
  • Monitors personal, real property and completes property inventory.
  • Maintains medication inventory.
  • Qualifies client(s) for Medicaid spend down.
  • Maintains and updates departmental reports.
  • Maintain client records
  • Provides general supervision of clients and makes appropriate medical placement.
  • Attend care conferences.
  • Conducts quarterly assessments.
  • Recruits, trains and supervises volunteers for the Public Conservator Program.
  • Participates in regular Coordinated Community Response meetings.
  • Performs other related duties as required or directed.
