Public Area Attendant is responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Lobby, Lower Lobby, Elevators, Rest Rooms, Courtyard, Outlets and Hotel Office Areas. The role involves establishing a comprehensive understanding of Sonesta guest standards, cleaning chemicals, and appropriate cleaning methods for various surfaces. The attendant ensures restrooms are kept clean and in excellent condition, performing rounds every 30 minutes (or every 15 minutes during special events). They are responsible for reporting maintenance issues, cleaning spills, and maintaining cleanliness of various surfaces and furniture. The role also requires maintaining communication with housekeeping, responding to hotel requests promptly, remaining visible in the work area, and collecting/logging lost and found items. Additionally, the attendant must manage inventory of supplies and deliver passionate and engaging service to guests by recognizing individual needs and following the GUEST model (Greet, Use eye and ear contact and guest’s name, Establish/anticipate needs, Solve and own all requests/complaints, Thank everyone). Building positive relationships with colleagues and upholding organizational values are also key aspects of the role. Employees may be assigned other duties as needed to support hotel operations.
