About The Position

The Public Area Attendant - Spa is responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and appearance of public and employee restrooms, showers, and glass areas. This role involves cleaning floor surfaces, dusting surfaces, emptying trash, inspecting furniture for damage, and cleaning lights. The attendant will also post caution signs when necessary, coordinate with other departments for urgent repairs, and respond promptly to guest and internal requests. A key part of the role is identifying and reporting maintenance issues. The position requires adherence to all company and safety policies, including proper storage of flammable materials and completion of safety training. The attendant must maintain a clean and professional appearance, uphold confidentiality, and provide excellent guest service according to company standards, including assisting individuals with disabilities. The role involves physical tasks such as lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching, grasping, and moving objects, as well as standing, sitting, kneeling, or walking for extended periods. The attendant may also be required to move through narrow or elevated spaces and climb ladders. Performing other reasonable job duties as requested by Supervisors is also part of the role.

Requirements

  • Ability to move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 55 pounds without assistance and in excess of 55 pounds with assistance.
  • Ability to push and pull work-related machinery over sloping and uneven surfaces.
  • Ability to reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Ability to visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e.g., to identify defects).
  • Ability to grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Ability to move through narrow, confined, or elevated spaces.
  • Ability to move up and down a ladder.
  • Ability to stand, sit, kneel, or walk for an extended period across an entire work shift.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Clean public and employee restrooms and showers.
  • Clean glass in public and employee areas.
  • Clean floor surfaces in public or employee space using designated chemicals, supplies, and equipment.
  • Dust surfaces in assigned area.
  • Empty trash containers, ashtrays, and ash urns in public areas into proper containers.
  • Inspect condition of furniture for tears, rips, and stains and report damages.
  • Clean and maintain lights.
  • Post caution signs to limit traffic when necessary.
  • Contact other departments directly for urgent repairs.
  • Respond promptly to requests from guests and other departments.
  • Identify and report preventative or other maintenance issues in public areas or guest rooms.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures.
  • Report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries.
