About The Position

Levi Strauss & Co. is seeking a consumer-centric Tailor for its Levi's® Retail store at Citadel Outlets in Commerce, California. Reporting to the Store Manager, the Tailor delivers a best-in-class tailoring experience and excellent product through customer service, sales, and Tailor Shop operations. The role includes basic and technical alterations, addressing consumer concerns, educating store teams about Tailor Shop services, supporting training for other Tailors, and following store policies and procedures. The Tailor also helps consumers find looks suited to their needs, promotes the Levi's® omni experience and Red Tab Loyalty program, and handles cash and Tailor Shop merchandise operations in compliance with store policy.

The position calls for someone with sewing and tailoring expertise, knowledge of denim construction and sewing machines, an understanding of textiles and fashion trends, strong communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks. A flexible schedule, reliable transportation, and the ability to meet the listed physical requirements are also required. Formal training in apparel design is preferred but not required.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of sewing or tailoring experience.
• Strong knowledge of jeans construction.
• Thorough knowledge of machines used in sewing denim products.
• Understanding of textiles and fabrics, with proven sewing, tailoring, and textile repair skills.
• Strong communication skills, internally and externally.
• Awareness of design and details; interest in fashion and current trends.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks in a busy environment.
• Availability to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and frequently stand, walk, kneel, squat, bend, reach overhead, and climb ladders, with or without reasonable accommodation.
• Reliable transportation.
• Must be at least 16 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Formal training in apparel design is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Perform basic alterations such as hemming, patching, repairing, and tapering, as well as more technical alterations requiring specialized equipment or detailed appearance-altering processes.
• Provide strong customer service and elevate the consumer experience.
• Resolve tailor-related consumer concerns with consumer satisfaction and company policy in mind; partner with store management on elevated issues.
• Educate and train store teams on customer offerings and services provided by the Tailor Shop.
• May support training Tailors within the district or region on Tailor processes and Levi's Tailoring standards.
• Follow Levi's Stores policies, procedures, programs, and store management directives.
• Suggest looks based on consumer needs, current trends, and promotions, consistent with Levi's service approach.
• Promote the Levi's omni experience by engaging consumers with the Red Tab Loyalty program.
• Handle cash and Tailor Shop merchandise operations and procedures in compliance with store policy.
