About The Position

This is a part-time position reporting to the Bakery/Deli Manager. The role involves providing customer service, maintaining and displaying bake-off/deli products, managing inventory, and ensuring adherence to store policies and procedures. The job is physically demanding, requiring frequent lifting up to 35 pounds, and involves operating equipment for product preparation and sale. The ideal candidate will be strongly service-oriented, motivated, and capable of courteous and efficient customer assistance. Availability to work mornings, afternoons, evenings, and weekends is required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide information, assistance, and courteous service to customers in a manner that promotes sales.
  • Maintain and display all types of bake-off/deli products according to procedure.
  • Place orders for inventory replenishment and maintain proper mark-down reports.
  • Advise the Department Manager and/or Supervisor of special or out-of-stock merchandise.
  • Follow Policy and Procedure for morning set up and evening closing.
  • Adjust minor complaints in keeping with general sales policy and refer more serious complaints to the Department Manager and/or Supervisor.
  • Prepare, wrap, price, stock, and price check merchandise as assigned.
  • Unpack and check merchandise as assigned, including checking code dates.
  • Observe safety measures and report hazardous conditions immediately to the Department Manager and/or Supervisor.
  • Assist in stock taking as required.
  • Perform general housekeeping and sanitation duties as per association standards.
  • Operate equipment necessary to prepare merchandise for sale.
  • Provide proper maintenance of equipment, monitor case temperature, clean equipment regularly, and notify supervisor regarding repairs.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
