About The Position
The Child Center of NY is hiring a fee-for-service Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist to support children and youth in their homes and communities. The specialist provides hands-on support and skill-building to help young people grow, cope, and succeed with minimal ongoing intervention. This is a field-based role with flexibility to build a schedule around the needs of the specialist and families served.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience in children’s mental health, addiction, or foster care.
- Flexibility to conduct home visits; evenings or weekends are preferred.
- Strong communication and time-management skills.
- Ability to connect with diverse cultural and social groups.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and some familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

- Availability for home visits during evenings or weekends.
Responsibilities
- Work one-on-one with children and adolescents in their homes and communities.
- Teach and reinforce social, emotional, and daily living skills.
- Support children and adolescents in managing challenges that affect their well-being and independence.
- Help children rebuild communication, interpersonal, social etiquette, and emotional regulation skills to support developmentally appropriate functioning.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services.
