About The Position

The Child Center of NY is hiring a fee-for-service, field-based Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) Specialist to support children and adolescents at home and in their communities. The specialist provides hands-on support and skill-building to help young people grow, cope, and succeed with minimal ongoing intervention. The role focuses on strengthening social, emotional, and daily living skills and supporting developmentally appropriate functioning. The organization operates every day of the week, and specialists can build a schedule that works for them and the families they serve.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 2 years of experience in children’s mental health, addiction, or foster care.
• Flexibility to conduct home visits; evenings or weekends are preferred.
• Strong communication and time-management skills.
• Ability to connect with diverse cultural and social groups.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and some familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR).

• Availability for evening or weekend home visits.

Responsibilities

• Work one-on-one with children and adolescents in their homes and communities.
• Teach and reinforce social, emotional, and daily living skills.
• Support children and adolescents in managing challenges that affect their well-being and independence.
• Help children rebuild communication, interpersonal, social etiquette, and emotional regulation skills to support developmentally appropriate functioning.
• Keep accurate, timely documentation of services.
