About The Position

Clark College is seeking a full-time temporary Psychology Professor for the 2026-2027 academic year. This role is part of the Social Sciences and Fine Arts division and involves department and college service work to support student success and retention. The position emphasizes active learning, collaboration, and culturally relevant, equity-minded instruction for a diverse student population. Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Psychology or related field.
  • Experience teaching Psychology at the college level, including introductory psychology and lifespan human development.
  • Understanding of and commitment to the mission of community colleges and the kinds of faculty work expected at an open admissions college.
  • Ability and willingness to work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Backgrounds and interests in biopsychology, cognitive psychology, human-computer interactions, biopsychology, and social psychology.

Responsibilities

  • Advise and assist students in their educational and career development.
  • Obtain and maintain Professional-Technical Certification requirements.
  • Participate in program, curriculum development and assessment activities.
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, businesses, advisory committees, and other educational partners to create unique learning opportunities.
  • Work cooperatively in a variety of department-level activities and college or company-wide projects.
  • Participate in decision-making processes by taking part in department and college committees.
  • Pursue professional development to enhance teaching and learning in the department and College.
  • Strive to enhance teaching and learning techniques.
  • Work well with people of all ages from academically, culturally, and socioeconomically diverse backgrounds.
  • Understand and commit to the mission of Clark College.
  • Instruct all assigned classes as an expert in the field of Psychology using a variety of pedagogical approaches that both engage and facilitate student learning.
  • Advise and assist students in educational and career development to attain a two-year or four-year degree, certificate, or transfer to a four-year college.
