About The Position

The LonGenity Study, based at Albert Einstein College of Medicine seeks a Psychology Assistant (PA) to be responsible for administering and scoring neuropsychological tests and managing the research data. Data collection will include working as a member of a team with other research assistants to collect clinical, functional, and neuropsychological data from study participants ages 65 years and older at on-site, virtual, and home visits. Additionally, follow-up data will be collected via mailed, telephone and video-administered questionnaires and tests. The PA will receive standardized training in conducting these measures. Previous phlebotomy experience is highly desirable though willingness to take part in a phlebotomy course to learn these skills is also acceptable. The home visits require the PA to have a valid driver's license. Driving usually occurs within a 2 hours distance of New York City. The PA will have the opportunity to participate in specific research projects within the study that are of interest to them and attend research conferences.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree is required
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Proficiency with basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office and data entry using a computer data system
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Interest in working with the elderly
  • Willingness to learn new clinical skills
  • Ability to work well in a team setting and independently is essential

Nice To Haves

  • Courswork in Psychology is preferred
  • Some experience is preferred, but not required
  • Previous phlebotomy experience is highly desirable though willingness to take part in a phlebotomy course to learn these skills is also acceptable.

Responsibilities

  • Conducts and scores neuropsychological assessments in compliance with study protocols.
  • Conducts participant interviews using standardized techniques to ensure accurate data collection.
  • Review, and audit data for accuracy; follow up with participants as needed to resolve discrepancies.
  • Works with statistical team to prepare datasets for analyses.
  • Conducts literature reviews to support research activities and manuscript development.
  • Manages research databases using Excel, and other statistical or data management programs.
  • Conduct the enrollment of study participants, including explaining research procedures, and obtaining informed consent of subjects.
  • Demonstrates willingness to learn phlebotomy techniques necessary to fulfill project needs.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
  • May require off-campus site visits.
