About The Position

This position is for a national, Indigenous-led project aimed at transforming brain health assessment for Indigenous populations in Canada. The primary purpose of this role is to support systematic review work for the development of a culturally-informed dementia screening tool and neuropsychological battery. The position will report to Dr. Megan O’Connell, a Professor in the Department of Psychology and Health Studies, and will entail playing a leadership role on a team of Research Assistants from across the country, completing a series of systematic reviews.

Requirements

  • TCPS2 certification required.
  • Advanced skills in database searches, screening, and data extraction.
  • Experience preparing PRISMA diagrams.
  • Effective interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
  • Understanding of First Nations principles of OCAP®.
  • Cultural humility.

Nice To Haves

  • A graduate degree is preferred.
  • Health Sciences is an asset.
  • Training and experience in systematic review work.
  • OCAP® certification an asset.
  • Experience with a variety of review types is an asset.
  • Publication of two or more systematic reviews.

Responsibilities

  • Searching databases, screening articles, and extracting data.
  • Contributing to review writing.
  • Attending regular team meetings.
  • Liaising with other RAs.
  • Working with the research librarian.
