About The Position

The Department of Psychology at Loyola University Maryland invites applications for a one-year, full-time non-tenure track Assistant Professor, with the possibility of renewal, in the area of psychological assessment, to begin in Fall 2026. This position involves supervising adult and/or child assessment at the Loyola Clinical Centers (LCC), a training clinic where Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology students train. The LCC is an interdisciplinary clinic focused on providing comprehensive clinical education and training to graduate students in psychology, speech-language pathology, audiology, and literacy. The clinic trains students in best practices for evidence-based assessment and intervention services to individuals and families of all ages, cultural backgrounds, and socioeconomic statuses, aiming to provide access to care regardless of financial resources and promote an inclusive environment. The position spans the fall 2026, spring, and summer 2027 semesters.

Requirements

  • Doctorate (Ph.D. or Psy.D.) in Clinical or Counseling Psychology.
  • Independently licensed as a psychologist in Maryland.
  • Ability to supervise assessment rotations (adult and/or child) at the Loyola Clinical Centers with prior supervision experience and evidence of effectiveness.
  • Ability to create a sense of inclusion and belonging in the classroom.
  • Ability to infuse multicultural content into supervision as appropriate.
  • Strong commitment to excellence in supervision, including an appreciation of or engagement in high-impact supervision practices.
  • Eligible to work in the United States and complete employment eligibility verification by the first day of employment.
  • Must submit a cover letter, curriculum vita, evidence of assessment skills and supervision effectiveness, a list of three references, and a statement of supervision philosophy.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise student assessments of clients conducted at the LCC.
  • Provide individual and group supervision to support student development and excellent care in client-facing work.
  • Supervise 6 second-year students conducting psychoeducational and psychodiagnostic evaluations.
  • Oversee 6 first-year students shadowing second-year cases and engaging in group supervision.
  • Provide on-site individual supervision on an as-needed basis (typically 3-5 times per case).
  • Provide weekly on-site group supervision (1 hour per section) for case review and didactics.
  • Engage in interdisciplinary consultations with students.
  • Be present for all assessment feedback appointments.
  • Provide on-call supervision coverage for students on days the supervisor is on site.
  • Hold dedicated office hours.
  • Advise graduate students.
  • Participate in additional department service.
