About The Position

The Ontario Shores Centre for Mental Health Sciences is seeking a Psychologist to deliver psychological services within its Outpatient Services Program, with a specific focus on Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). The role primarily involves assignments to the Borderline Personality Self-Regulation Clinic, the Anxiety and Mood Disorders Clinic, and Complex General Psychiatry. However, clinic location and service delivery may be adjusted based on operational needs and in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team. The Psychologist will work alongside an interprofessional team to provide evidence-based clinical practice, including assessment and intervention, for individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, mood, and anxiety-related concerns. Key responsibilities include acting as a clinical consultant, offering training, and providing individual and group consultation services to clinicians from various regulated colleges. The Psychologist will also play a clinical leadership role in the Borderline Personality Self-Regulation Clinic, contributing to DBT program development, implementation, and evaluation. Additionally, the position involves contributing to quality improvement and research initiatives that align with organizational priorities across Outpatient Services.

Requirements

  • Doctoral level Psychology degree
  • Registered with the College of Psychologists and Behaviour Analysts of Ontario (Candidates who are eligible for registration may be interviewed)
  • Experience providing, teaching and supervising evidence-based therapies (e.g. DBT required)
  • Expertise in developing assessment protocols to clarify diagnosis and contribute to evidence-based clinical management of patients
  • Demonstrated leadership skills to work with an interprofessional team
  • Experience with program evaluation is required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a dynamic team environment

Nice To Haves

  • 3 years clinical and/or research experience in the field of severe and persistent mental illness
  • Experience providing, teaching and supervising CPT, IPT and CBT
  • Demonstrated interest and aptitude for academic activities, including teaching and supervising graduate students
  • Ability to conduct independent research relevant to the Outpatient Program

Responsibilities

  • Provide psychological services in the Outpatient Services Program, with particular expertise in Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT)
  • Work collaboratively with an interprofessional team to support evidence-based clinical practice (e.g. assessment and intervention) to individuals with Borderline Personality Disorder, as well as mood and anxiety-related concerns
  • Act as a clinical consultant providing training, individual, and group consultation services to clinicians from a variety of regulated colleges
  • Provide clinical leadership in the areas of DBT program development, implementation, and evaluation within the Borderline Personality Self-Regulation Clinic
  • Contribute quality improvement and research initiatives aligned with organizational priorities across Outpatient Services
