This position provides direct service to adult patients in a Behavioral Health Program area. The role involves completing psychosocial assessments, psychological testing, and treatment plans in cooperation with the patient and a multidisciplinary team. The psychologist will offer assistance with interpreting psychological tests, conduct comprehensive assessments of clinical needs, and collaborate with patients to develop treatment plans. Behavioral health care will be delivered in accordance with patient evaluation, treatment plans, and within the scope of the psychologist's license. The role includes providing crisis assessment and intervention, consulting and coordinating care with physicians, therapists, and community agencies, and providing appropriate discharge planning. The psychologist will also refer patients or their families to community resources, participate in clinical collaboration and supervision, and maintain patient data and documentation in accordance with state, TJC, and Mercyhealth system guidelines. Additionally, the position requires attendance at meetings, offering in-service education, functioning as a resource, participating in the development of patient education materials, and engaging in performance improvement activities.
