The Psychological Sciences adjunct teaches courses in the Psychological Sciences program, preparing and delivering in-person learning activities designed to achieve course outcomes. Specifically, this position is needed to teach two courses, Social Psychology and Psychology of Personality. The adjunct will develop course materials, including syllabi, homework assignments, and content for the Course Management System (CMS). They will evaluate and grade students’ class work, online work, assignments, papers, and examinations, while holding a minimum of two regularly scheduled office hours per week throughout the semester. They must maintain and submit student attendance records, grades, and other required documentation by specified deadlines, as well as prepare and maintain course materials within the Salem College Course Management System for each course taught and communicate with enrolled students through a Salem email account. Additionally, participate in periodic meetings with supervisors, the division, or the College related to teaching responsibilities, as well as training and professional development.

Requirements

• Master’s degree or higher in Psychology or related discipline with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Psychology
• Prior experience teaching classes in psychology at the undergraduate or graduate level as instructor of record
• Experience in instructional technology
• Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, or equivalent
• Excellent communication (verbal, written and interpersonal) and organizational skills
• Sensitivity to respond appropriately to the needs of the community

Nice To Haves

• At least 2 years of experience teaching in higher education.

• Experience teaching courses in psychology of personality
