About The Position

Hartford HealthCare’s Behavioral Health Network is seeking a board-eligible or board-certified Adult Psychiatrist to join the multidisciplinary inpatient adult team at The Shores Mental Health in Westport, Connecticut. The Staff Psychiatrist will provide patient care, supervise psychiatry residents, and teach medical students as part of a mature, collegial faculty group. Applicants may be eligible for an academic appointment through Quinnipiac University’s Frank H. Netter MD School of Medicine, subject to the school’s appointments and promotions processes. The Shores Mental Health is part of St. Vincent’s Medical Center and serves as the behavioral health service line for Hartford HealthCare’s Fairfield region. Its services include a 76-bed freestanding inpatient psychiatric service in Westport, with adult, dual-diagnosis, and child/adolescent services; emergency, consultation-liaison, and outpatient services and a 10-bed geriatric and medically complex psychiatric unit in Bridgeport; and outpatient services in Norwalk. The service line serves more than 2,500 individuals annually. This is a salaried position. Although compensation is displayed as an hourly rate for consistency across postings, the position is paid on a salary basis. Actual pay depends on qualifications, location, internal equity, and other factors, which may include hire bonuses, incentive pay plans, loan repayment, administrative stipends, or relocation.

Requirements

MD or DO from an accredited medical school.
Board eligible or board certified in Adult Psychiatry.
Eligible for unrestricted Connecticut medical licensure and DEA registration.
Demonstrated commitment to high-quality inpatient psychiatric care.
Interest in teaching and supervising psychiatry residents and medical students.
Strong leadership, communication, and multidisciplinary team collaboration skills.
