Psychiatrist Part-time
About The Position
Lakeview Center seeks a part-time Psychiatrist to provide inpatient, outpatient, and on-call psychiatric services for LCI and BHC adult and child clients. The psychiatrist must perform duties in accordance with applicable U.S. Department of Health and Human Services standards and regulations; CARF Accreditation, Joint Commission, and CMS requirements; relevant Florida agency requirements; American Medical Association medical ethics standards; and requirements of other applicable government agencies or third-party payors. Lakeview Center provides behavioral health services throughout Northwest Florida, including residential treatment, outpatient counseling, psychiatry, trauma care, substance-misuse treatment, and around-the-clock support for people with serious mental illnesses. Requirements
- Hold a State of Florida MD license.
- Be eligible for privileging at the appropriate hospitals.
- Be eligible to participate in state- or federally funded programs, such as Medicaid.
- Pass organizational screening requirements, including applicable state or federal background screenings.
- Complete the required Level II background screening and drug testing.
Nice To Haves
- Board certification or eligibility in psychiatric practice is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Attend and participate in the monthly MSO meeting.
- Comply with professional licensing, credentialing, and privileging requirements.
- Document and report psychiatric services and activities within designated time frames.
- Provide admission evaluations, complete daily rounds, check medications, and document patients’ progress and condition during inpatient hospitalization, as applicable.
- Provide outpatient individual and/or group therapy, medication management, and psychiatric evaluations.
- Provide emergency psychiatric evaluations.
- Provide inpatient evaluations and follow-up.
- Provide on-call services.
- Provide consultation as needed.
- Maintain compliance with LCI, MSO, psychiatric, funding-agency, and accrediting-agency guidelines and requirements.
